Three words: garlic bread croissant. Rollers Bakehouse is serving up not-so-ordinary baked delights in Manly.
What started out as one young man's passion for creating OTT muffins in his family kitchen has now grown into a full-blown baking empire. Meet James Sideris and Bo Hinzack, the brains behind the newest bakehouse to open its doors in Manly. You might have followed James under his Nutorious alias on Instagram when he first came onto the foodie scene a few years back. Here, he showcased mouth-watering muffins made with all sorts of fillings, including creams, berries, chocolate, biscuits, and even ganache-loaded plastic syringes. If you were lucky you could nab one from various local cafés that supplied them on weekends. Nowadays, you'll find he's stepped things up a notch, with his very own outpost.
You won't find many of your standard bakery items here. Rollers Bakehouse is all about pushing the baked goods envelope. Sample the likes of the signature charcoal croissant, made with double chocolate and a delectable crumble, or otherwise the savoury garlic bread croissant, laden with garlic, rosemary, thyme and Gruyere cheese. There are also cookies to tickle your fancy, made using ingredients such as blood orange, rhubarb compote, Greek yoghurt and almond milk.
On the drinks front, you'll find brewed beverages from
Okay Coffee.
The brainchild of Bo (owner of Showbox Coffee Brewers) and Aaron Wood of Wood and Co Coffee Roasters, coffee at Rollers certainly doesn't come as an afterthought. Everything from the batch brew to the various blends is served with intense thought and meticulous care.
You'll find Rollers Bakehouse just moments away from the beach, tucked away on Rialto Lane. If you're in Manly, make sure you pop in for a coffee and croissant. It's well worth the indulgence.
Rollers Bakehouse is open daily from 7am-3pm.
