Mordeo Reopens in Martin Place

Mordeo has reopened in Martin Place following a $2.5 million transformation that merges its former Bistro & Bar and Pasta & Panini Bar into one 150-seat Mediterranean destination.

Under the culinary direction of chef Jean-Baptiste Legrand, formerly of Hubert, the revamped venue transitions seamlessly from morning coffee and express lunches to relaxed dinners and after-work drinks. The Southern European menu features freshly made pastas and hand-stretched pizzas, but the standout is the Piegata, a traditional Italian folded pizza-style sandwich available exclusively at lunch. Made with house-made, 48-hour slow-fermented dough and baked to order, it's filled with classic combinations like jamón, provolone, and confit tomato. Trust us, this is express lunch done right. Beyond the Piegata, expect generous mains like 24-hour brined BBQ chicken and share-friendly antipasto plates, plus a European-centered cocktail list featuring the signature Campari Margarita. The space caters to busy CBD workers and leisurely diners alike.
